The Loft

So last night I DID get to have a little adventure for our date. The hubby took me to Zionsville to a place called Trader's Point Creamery. Now we get there at 6:30pm and it's almost dark, so despite the fact that you can tour the farm, see the dairy, watch the processes for cheese and milk, etc we are there too late for any of that. So what are we doing here? There is a giant barn on the land called The Loft.

Turns out this is a restaurant, and you eat literally in the barn on the second floor where the loft would be.

Don't get turned off or grossed out though, this is an amazingly beautiful and sophisticated restaurant surrounded by a really antiqued rustic feel from the walls and rafters.

Everything that you eat in this restaurant is organic- even down to the beer and wine available! Their cheeses are all made at the creamery and are not homogenized and have no antibiotics or hormones. Their meat is all from their farm or neighboring farms and is range free and grass fed. Amazing! Zach and I had a lovely, leisurely dinner enjoying some very new and unique tastes in an atmosphere that screams foodie. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and we WILL be back!

Our fromage plate that we indulged in

Zach with his chef's cut grass-fed bone in ribeye with asparagus

I had Farm House Mac and Cheese that had chicken, bell peppers, mushrooms, asparagus, and bacon

Apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream, cobbler was great, but HANDS DOWN this was the best ice cream I have EVER had. The taste and texture were superb and I could go there and just eat ice cream all night! (but that would not be a good idea)

Thank you Trader's Point Creamery for being innovative and daring to have a fancy restaurant inside a barn! And thank you to my wonderful husband for being such a creative date maker :)
