I got my ears pierced when I was too young to even remember, unfortunately they didn't use to pierce quite as precisely as they do now so the hole in my left ear is dangerously close to the bottom of my earlobe. Other than this minor detail, I have always loved wearing earrings. I had the years where I insisted on wearing stick on earrings (despite my pierced ears). Then I only wore studs in alarming shades of neon. For a period I had my ears double pierced; a look not good on me that I only made worse by putting two different colors in opposite holes- for example a red in the first hole of one ear and in the second hole of the other, with blue in the other two holes. I believe I have made it out of these detrimental stages finally and have complete faith (mostly) in my ability to pair earrings with outfits. Here are some pairs that have caught my eye this winter...
Circular Disk Earrings: Forever 21
Sculpted Teardrop Earrings: Express
Paladium Hoop Earrings: Fossil
Color Semiprecious Chandelier Earrings: Judith Jack
Jungle Leaf Hammered Earring: Charlotte Russe
Leaf Pearl Stud Earrings: Top Shop

This blog is a look into some of the things that are important to me, that I crave, and that are just flat out fun! I wanted to be able to express myself to anyone willing to take a look, and I hope this is as enjoyable to others as I find it to be!

Fruit Fabulous
My latest crave that tastes like an indulgence, but actually isn't, is Edy's ice-cream filled bars. At only 80 calories a bar, these little treats are the perfect evening snack. Not only are they unbelievably low in fat and sugar, but they are a great source of vitamin C and taste amazing! So far this is the only flavor I have had, but I am sure my six bars will last all of six days and then I will absolutely have to run out and buy some new flavors. Looking forward to later tonight when I relax and watch the Bachelor and eat one of my new treats!

The Measure of Life
I don't know about you, but I use measuring cups DAILY. They are essential to making sure that I am getting the exact serving size and eating proper portions. I use wet measuring cups, dry measuring cups, and measuring spoons so often that I am sometimes washing them several times a day. I think that this chore would be made a lot easier if I had some of these adorable kitchen tools from Anthropologie.
Primary Confection Measuring Spoons: $14 These bright little spoons would add such a pop of color to my kitchen and they stack up so neatly to save space!
Florist Measuring Cups: $36 These sweet flower shaped cups are so precious that I think I could even forgive them for not being able to level off and create an exact amount.
Shell Measuring Spoons: $12 Scooping and measuring would definitely be more fun with such a unique set of spoons! These spoons would fulfill some of my craving for the ocean and add a natural feel to the kitchen all in one.

The Food Quest: Slow's Bar-B-Q
To read an introduction to our Food Quests, go here.
Saw It: Travel Channel's 101 Chowdown Countdown
Known For: Brisket Enchilada's
We Went: 9/6/10
We Had: Shared -Niman Ranch Brisket Enchiladas
Zach -JP's Revenge (a sandwich with pit smoked ham, mustard sauce, onion marmalade, and smoked gouda on a kaiser roll)
Jordan - Your Choice (pulled pork, baby back ribs, cornbread, and mac & cheese)
Location: Detroit, MI
This was on the same Detroit trip that we visited the battling coney island restaurants. First thing I have to clarify- Zach not only ate his meal, but also ate a very large portion of mine, that was NOT all just my food (though I suppose I could probably put all that down if necessary...) Secondly, this is currently my favorite restaurant we have been to on our food quest. I am sure at some point another will take it's place, but at this point it remains the best! The setting was very fun (it was warm enough that we got to sit outside) and it was a walled-in area with stone tables that looked as though they had grown up right out of the ground they looked so perfect there. All of the wood and metal that were used outside were salvaged from the building that they now inhabit- how environmentally friendly! Then there was the smell. The meat has been smoking on grills for hours and with the food grilling and the wood burning the aroma is heavenly! Finally the taste of the food itself was above par. There was not a thing we tried that we didn't like. Not even that we just liked it, but that it was above average! I definitely would recommend hitting up Slow's the next time you are in the Detroit area!

Facelift
So this site is under construction and I am trying out a new format! I wanted my blog to be a little more accessible and readable, and while I was trying to convey my personality in the old style, I feel like this more simplistic version might make it easier to follow! I also cleaned up some of the gadgets to make a more clean and organized blog!
